If you want to scan paper in, you’ll need our optional scanning functionality, and of course a scanner too. Anything will work, as long as it is what’s known as “TWAIN Compliant” – it will say so on the box or on the manufacturer’s website.
The scanner you choose should be appropriate for the amount of use you're going to give it. If you're only plannning on scanning a few pages every day, your requirements are going to be different from someone archiving their past ten years worth of paperwork.
You can simply plug your scanner into your PC, log on to the Instant Intelligence Archiving website and through your browser you can scan directly into your filing cabinets. If you have a large volume of paper requiring scanning, we can put you in touch with one of our partners who specialise in doing just that; we have systems that allow large numbers of files to be automatically uploaded and filed according to your requirements. Please speak to any member of our team for further details.

What to look for in a scanner
Speed Anything from a flat-bed scanner that scans one page at a time to a 100 page per minute monster, it's really what's appropriate for you.
Duplex Duplex means double-sided, and a duplex scanner will scan both the front and back of a page at the same time, if you need it.
Colour Colour is pretty, but it also makes for very large file sizes, so if you don't need it, scan in black and white.
Connectivity A USB scanner is more flexible - you can move it from one PC to another very easily. If you need any advice, we or our partners will be happy to help.
